If you're reading this, you're probably somebody who's got high ambitions in life. You've got a mission, a purpose, goal or aim. You want to do great things. You want to experience a great quality of life. You want to feel fully charged, engaged, fulfilled and alive. You want to feel like you're creative, connecting with other people, like you're contributing. You want to have that full range of joy and vibrancy that you deserve.
You also know, like every other high achiever or high performer in the world, that there are days it doesn't feel like that. That there are days that you feel sort of lost or confused; days when you feel unmotivated or disappointed. Some days you are completely uncertain or frustrated.
So the challenge we all face is how do we get past those speed bumps?
Sometimes you get yourself past them and other times, you need some assistance. Sometimes we have to acknowledge that we have taken ourselves as far as we possibly can. You've gotten yourself this far with your strength, you're wits, resilience and ambitions; with your fire, your will, your discipline.
You've gotten yourself to the level that you're on, and sometimes it's easy to get and stay at this level; you plateau. But you know in your heart that there is another level; so staying on this level, in your finances, in your relationships, at work, with your health, would be settling for you. It may be okay for some, but for you, it's mediocrity. You know in your gut there's more in you to achieve more, give more, serve more. More to experience and do in this life.
That's when you start working with a coach. That's when you realize that there's a big difference between reading a book or taking an online course and having somebody lift you up. Having somebody who's there with you step by step, someone who has the perspective and skills to rattle you out of complacency and what can feel like a cage or trap.
There's so many great things in our life that we could have, if we had somebody help guide us there. Right?
The real question is, how much will it cost not to?
1) Time, energy, and effort
Sometimes you don't know where you're at or if you're doing good. Sometimes you don't understand why you do the things you do. Why it's a Wednesday at 2 pm and you're supposed to be working, but you're on the couch with a bag or chips binge watching your favorite show. Sometimes you get trapped in old thinking and need somebody to point out how you've been thinking about that specific thing.
Sometimes it's an outside person asking us intelligent, thoughtful, provoking questions that make us find our AHA because sometimes you wake up in the morning and you have that aha, you're like, oh my gosh, and just and you get that moment of clarity and all day you talk about it. What if you could just operationalize that in your life.
That's what a coach is. They're operationalizing the number of aha moments you have. They're operationalizing the number of breakthroughs you have. You're working with the person on a consistent basis, who lives and breathes breakthrough to help you find that level of clarity where this is who I am. This is what I should be doing. That's not okay with me. This is what I want. Let's go this specific path forward. That's what coaching provides people that's why it's so powerful.
2) Integrity, congruency and confidence
Have you ever experienced living into you're highest self? Firing on all cylinders, in complete alignment with your values, and operating as your best self? You feel vibrant, connected, living with integrity.
Sometimes we forget, get distracted or are just too drained to live into the things we say are our values. You say something is important to you, but your actions are not in alignment with your words.
A coach will keep you congruent; accountable to make sure you're actions consistently demonstrate what you say is important. A person who has your best interest in mind with no judgement, who will let you know about it and do it in a caring way. Your family, friends and coworkers are not sufficient to keep you at your highest level because they either like you or work for you so they tend to be yes people. Showing their support by just yessing and being agreeable. Or sometime they don't have your best interest in mind; maybe you've got some negative people in your life who enjoy knocking you down or knocking you off your game.
So a coach is somebody who can call out thinks to you and you don't feel threatened by it. You know they're just there to explore it with you, to get you back on track. You already know they have positive intent for you; and as a matter of fact, they're compensated to get you back in that place.
3) Fulfillment, excitement and joy
Most people need someone to push them to that next level, challenge their limited thinking, challenge the way they treat people, challenge the way they get distracted, but also challenge them to rise into their highest self.
Most people don't have someone who will challenge them. It's one thing to keep someone congruent with who they know they are with their current values, but it's a whole other game to challenge people to think, challenge people to think better, and challenging to do better. And sometimes, you need a third party to do that.
4) Camaraderie
When you start trying to achieve real things, you'll wish you had somebody you could talk this through with. You know, just brainstorm with. Sometimes that can be your team, but you're also trying to lead them... There's little there's camaraderie there, sure, but there's also camaraderie of someone that you can share the private stuff. The internal stuff, the complicated things, the doubts, and insecurities, the frustrations that the leadership level can show us. We can show vulnerabilities with them too, but in a different way.
We fear being alone and fear being lonely or not accepted or not belonging. But if you're trying to achieve significant things, especially if you're an entrepreneur, sometimes you are doing it alone. Maybe you don't even have a team yet. You know everyone around you thinks you're nuts.
You got nobody but you got this coach and every week you get to call them their jobs up to be your friend. But in the process, it starts to feel like that, you know, it's like you know what, at least I got this person when I call in to get that job, that perspective that Aha, that clarity, that path when I feel like myself again. Here we go again. It's like if anything they get if you just had somebody to give you remarkable energy every week, and to help refine your your own clarity and your confidence to move forward. That would be worth it in itself.
So that's the value of having a coach. They're going to keep you on a timeline of growth that is a little more accelerated than anyone else.
High Performance Coaching versus all the other coaching out there is the way that is structured to move you ahead.
Other coaching programs are the same call every week, every month, week after week or month after month. And at some point, you kind of step back and go, look... I could just ask myself these questions. Why am I paying somebody to kind of keep me accountable? I think accountability coaches are really nice, but I wouldn't pay much for them.
A Certified High Performance Coach is somebody who will move you forward, regardless of whether or not you have anything new to share or you haven't achieved anything that week because - life happened.
No matter what happened in your life, no matter whether you move towards the goal or didn't move towards the goal, each session, there's a curriculum in which they're going to ask you questions to help you grow and advance as a person and a contributor, no matter what your goals are.
That's the power of having somebody who's highly skilled to ask the right questions and process with you in a way that you grow regardless and you're having as much momentum at that moment or that week.
